The sixth and final season of Netflix’s hit martial arts drama Cobra Kai will have 15 episodes split into three parts, the streamer announced on Thursday alongside a teaser for the upcoming instalment.
“The end of a legacy deserves a grand finale. 15 episodes. A three-part event. It all begins July 18,” Netflix wrote on Instagram.
In the video shared by Netflix, we get a glimpse of Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny’s (William Zabka) students preparing for their next big challenge. “Cobra Kai is back,” says Martin Kove’s Cobra Kai founder John Kreese at the end.
“There’s lots of surprises in Season 6. You’ll love it,” Kove said in a behind-the-scenes video from the Cobra Kai set shared in February. While Vanessa Rubio said she cannot wait to give her fans the sixth season, Xolo Maridueña, who plays Miguel Diaz, promised that the final season is going to be a “banger”.
“Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate,” reads the official synopsis of the sixth season on Netflix’s Tudum.
Starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña and Peyton List, the first part of Cobra Kai Season 6 will premiere on July 18.
Running for five seasons, Cobra Kai is based on Robert Mark Kamen’s The Karate Kid film series, which starred Ralph Macchio and William Zabka in the 1984 movie.
