Naslen and Mamitha Baiju are set to return as Sachin and Reenu next year in a sequel to the 2024 hit Malayalam romcom Premalu, the makers announced on Friday alongside a concept poster of the next instalment.
“The Biggest RomCom blockbuster ever in Malayalam Cinema will be back in 2025 ! Let's Premalu2 ,” wrote production banner Bhavna Studios. The poster shows a majestic palace against the backdrop of a starry sky.
Fahadh Faasil will also return as one of the film’s producers, while Girish AD will be helming the sequel.
Premalu enjoyed widespread success not only in Kerala but also in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. S.S. Karthikeya, who backed the Telugu version, announced that he will be associated with the sequel as well.

Set in Hyderabad, Premalu depicts the story of two Malayalis — Sachin (Naslen) and Reenu (Mamitha Baiju) — who cross paths and eventually fall in love with each other. The romantic comedy also features Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Meenakshi Raveendran and Mathew Thomas in pivotal roles.
