Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans are separated by only two points in the IPL 2024 standings and both are in the lower half of the table. So on paper, there is not much to choose between the two when they face off in Delhi on Wednesday.

As the race for the playoffs gets more intense, the need for points becomes significant, more so for Delhi who have blown hot and cold in this IPL.

The last time the two teams met, Delhi had bundled out Titans for just 89, the lowest total this season, to win the match comfortably. But the same bowling attack got thrashed by the Sunrisers as Delhi conceded a 260-plus total. Such inconsistency has hurt Rishabh Pant's side.

Pant, however, will draw confidence from the form of the young batters in his team. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel have all been impressive with their aggressive batsmanship.

Having said that, Pant himself and David Warner must also step up if Delhi are to overcome the Titans' impressive bowling line-up.

Talking about the Titans' bowling, it's their spin trio which possesses the biggest threat. The Afghan duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad were already bowling well, and now left-arm spinner Sai Kishore has also joined the party.

Delhi, of course, have their own effective spin pair of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel to fall back on. Along with them, if the likes of Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed can be accurate, Delhi can hope for ascendancy.

The Titans will be a bit worried about their batting, which has been overdependent on captain Shubman Gill. Time for others to contribute as well.
