Directed by Sheer Qorma director Faraz Arif Ansari, the upcoming film marks Zeenat Aman’s return to acting

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman is set to make her return to acting with Faraz Arif Ansari’s upcoming directorial Bun Tikki, a Manish Malhotra production that also marks her onscreen reunion with Shabana Azmi after the 1982 crime drama Ashanti. The film, also starring Abhay Deol, recently wrapped filming. Here’s a look at some of the behind-the-scenes moments from the sets. 

Ansari, known for his films like Sisak (2017), Sheer Qorma (2021) and Siberia (2015), was engrossed in conversation with the leading ladies of Bun Tikki — Zeenat and Shabana — in between shots. The filmmaker shared a heartfelt note about the “unbridled joy” of directing Shabana and Zeenat together in his film alongside the pictures.

Shabana and Zeenat were clicked getting finishing touches to their makeup before shoot. While the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress sported a black jacket paired with a red muffler, the Don actress exuded elegance in a black sari featuring polka dots.

For her makeup, Zeenat went for a dewy look. A red matte lipstick, black rimmed glasses, beaded necklace and statement earrings complemented her black sari. “Bun Tikki is my small contribution to a cinematic landscape that celebrates the profound impact of gentleness in a world in dire need of healing,” Ansari wrote in the caption.

For her makeup, Zeenat went for a dewy look. A red matte lipstick, black rimmed glasses, beaded necklace and statement earrings complemented her black sari. “Bun Tikki is my small contribution to a cinematic landscape that celebrates the profound impact of gentleness in a world in dire need of healing,” Ansari wrote in the caption.

Zeenat went for a yellow sari, while Shabana kept it casual in a black co-ord set paired with a grey rib-knit sweater and a tie-dyed shawl during an outdoor shoot.

Zeenat looked stunning in a satin ice blue sari featuring polka dots paired with a white full-sleeve mao collared blouse during the poster shoot. Dewy makeup, pink sunglasses and pearl-beaded jewellery completed her look. The Bollywood veteran shared a picture of her in the same sari during the shooting of the film in Shimla and mentioned that portraying the role of Sitara Jaan in Bun Tikki has “rekindled her love for saris”.
