Israe hailed its successful air defences in the face of an unprecedented attack by Iran, saying it and its allies thwarted 99% of the more than 300 drones and missiles launched toward its territory. U.S. President Joe Biden said he would convene a meeting of the Group of Seven advanced democracies 'to coordinate a united diplomatic response to Iran’s brazen attack.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the BJP's Lok Sabha manifesto which has a special focus on the poor, youth, farmers and women, and asserted that the need for a stable government with full majority was necessary when the world was passing through uncertain times. "In the last 10 years, BJP has implemented every aspect of its manifesto as a guarantee. BJP has restored the sanctity of the manifesto," Modi said at the release of the manifesto.

Police have identified the assailant who stabbed six people to death at a busy Sydney shopping centre before he was fatally shot by a police officer. NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke told reporters at a media conference that Joel Cauchi suffered from yet unspecified mental health issues and police investigators weren't treating the attack as terrorism-related.

Two motorbike-borne unidentified persons opened fire outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's house in Mumbai leading the police to enhance security around his residence and launch a search for the accused, an official said. Security outside Khan's residence was stepped up and the police were collecting footage of the CCTV cameras installed near his house to identify the persons, he said.

The second batch of Indian military personnel manning a helicopter gifted by India to the Maldives has left the island nation as demanded by him, President Mohamed Muizzu has said. Last month, he had alleged that his predecessor Ibrahim Mohamed Solih operated on the orders from 'a foreign ambassador' without naming any country.

Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on April 15 a plea of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan seeking anticipatory bail in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the Waqf Board during his chairmanship. On March 11, disapproving repeated evasion of summonses of investigating agencies by public persons, the high court refused to grant pre-arrest bail to Khan.

A 56-year-old woman was killed and a man was injured in an elephant attack in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, an official said. "A wild elephant arrived there and trampled Kalavati Rathiya to death. A man identified as Ramlal Rathiya (35) sustained injuries in the attack and has been hospitalised. The kin of the deceased were given instant relief of Rs 25,000, while full compensation will be released after completion of formalities," Raigarh Division Forest Officer Stylo Mandavi said.

A six-year-old boy, who fell into an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district two days ago, has died despite hectic efforts by multiple agencies to save him, an official said. He was stuck at a depth of around 40 feet, officials earlier said.
