Instead of going with the activewear outfits in the original dance face-off sequence in the Yash Chopra-directed film, Madhuri and Karisma chose Indo-western outfits this time. The audience cheered them on as they flaunted their moves on stage.

Their performance garnered a standing ovation from Suniel Shetty, who hailed the actresses as “the greatest dancing stars of their industry.” Dance Deewane host Bharti Singh also heaped praise on the duo and spoke about the timeless appeal of Dil To Pagal Hai.

Fans flooded the comment section with praises for the two actresses. “Karisma Kapoor danced like before,” one of them wrote. “Madhuri always the best anytime,” another fan commented.

Dil To Pagal Hai follows the story of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), a passionate dancer and director of a dance troupe, who falls in love with Pooja (Madhuri Dixit), his lead dancer, while his friend Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) secretly harbours feelings for him.

In the Dance of Envy sequence, both Pooja and Nisha express their love for Rahul through an emotionally-charged dance performance, each trying to outshine the other. The choreography showcases the jealousy and inner turmoil faced by the female characters while competing for Rahul’s love and affection.

Karisma made her comeback to acting with the Netflix film Murder Mubarak on March 15. She will be next seen in her debut show Brown. Madhuri, on the other hand, is reportedly going to feature in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan.
