The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has announced a significant amendment to the eligibility criteria for its postgraduate entrance examination, the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) PG. In a recent notification by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it was revealed that candidates nearing the completion of their undergraduate degrees are now eligible to apply for the ICAR AIEEA PG.

The option of 'Appearing' has been included under the passing status of graduation qualification details, allowing prospective candidates to apply even before officially obtaining their undergraduate degrees.

However, it is essential to highlight that candidates without the required degrees are permitted to take the exam provisionally. Nevertheless, they must possess the necessary qualifications at the time of admission to avoid any discrepancies.

To secure admission to master's degree programmes through ICAR AIEEA PG, candidates must hold either four or six-year graduation degrees (12+4/ 10+6 BSc Agriculture/ BTech), five-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH), or 5½ years BVSc & AH degrees. Further details regarding eligibility criteria can be found on the official document.

Additionally, for the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)/ Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) programmes, Indian nationals who have completed their Master’s degree with a minimum Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) are eligible to apply. Specific OGPA requirements for SRF/ JRF are outlined in the information bulletin.

The application process for both ICAR AIEEA PG and AICE PhD 2024 is currently underway on the NTA's official website. Eligible candidates need to submit their applications online before the deadline on May 11, 5PM.

Scheduled for June 29, the examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode with a duration of two hours. Candidates will be required to answer objective type multiple choice questions in English medium only.
