The 2012 Visionaries, Innovators and Leaders Recognized at GIL 2012: India :

GIL witnessed participation from 150+ CXOs across various industry verticals and witnessed Frost & Sullivan consultants/thought leaders guiding them through the Journey to Visionary Innovation with thought provoking sessions and solution/tool-based interactive workshops.

The day began with a Keynote presentation by Mr. Aroop Zutshi, Global President and Managing Partner, Frost & Sullivan, who set the stage by sharing his insights on ‘The Journey to Visionary Innovation’ followed by a workshop that used Frost & Sullivan’s Growth Diagnostic tool to measure their future growth potential. In his keynote speech, he highlighted the significance of leveraging innovation to survive in the future business environment. Where Innovation comes from, how to nurture it, what do companies need to do today, were some of the key questions he addressed through his session.

Speaking on where companies are going wrong, Aroop said, “Organizations need to look at continuous innovation to achieve long term sustainable growth. A focus on industry convergence will uncover new and emerging areas of revenues”.

Anand S, Research Director, Technical Insights Group - Frost & Sullivan, supported the vision and need for an environment of Innovation shared by Aroop, by sharing the Top 50 Technologies and Innovations that will reshape our world in the future. The thought provoking presentation “TechVision 2020” gave an insight into how top emerging and innovative technologies will impact Industries, Strategies and Business Decisions in India.

The Top Emerging Technologies revealed at the Congress were across the following clusters - Sensors and Control, Sustainable Energy, Clean and Green Technology, Information and Communications Technology, Microelectronics, Materials and Coatings, Health and Wellness, Medical Devices and Imaging Technology and Advanced Manufacturing and Automation.

Innovation in many cases leads to disruption and Frost & Sullivan Partner, Sarwant Singh’s New Mega Trends Presentation and the Industry Convergence Workshop provided ideas and real insight on the mega forces that are driving convergence and ideas for how to use this to seize white space market opportunities. Best practices were shared for companies to navigate their path and identify a course of action.

The last and the final workshop for the evening focused on Implementation Excellence. The Workshop, facilitated by V.G. Ramakrishnan, Managing Director, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia, provided a hands-on experience in exploring the critical growth processes while applying tools in a real-time exercise to validate and benchmark companies existing strategies against best practice implementation.

Speaking on the essence of GIL 2012: India and what it tries to achieve and his workshop, V.G. Ramakrishnan, said, “It is important for companies in India to understand the global forces that are driving change, especially in today’s environment, where we are living in an “Uncertain yet Interconnected World”. They also need to understand the risks involved, if they do not gear themselves for this change today. Through our workshops, it is our effort to get companies to think beyond, take into account the technologies and innovation that we will witness in the next decade and thereafter develop an implementable growth strategy”.
