Bridgerton stars Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey put their best fashion foot forward at the premiere of the third season of the Netflix period drama series on Tuesday. Here’s a look.
Nicola Coughlan, who essays the role of Penelope Featherington in the Chris Van Dusen-created period drama series, turned heads in an off-shoulder structured top and a column skirt, complete with a floor-sweeping train. Dark red lips, smokey eyes and sleek hair accentuated her look for the event.
Luke Newton, set to return as Penelope’s childhood crush Colin Bridgerton in the upcoming instalment, looked dapper in a red chequered shirt teamed with black flared trousers.
Simone Ashley, known for her portrayal of Kate Sharma and later Viscountess Bridgerton in the Season 2 of the show, sparkled in a shimmery metallic gown.
Jonathan Bailey, who plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the Shondaland series, sported a crisp white suit.
Sam Phillips of The Crown fame has joined the cast of Bridgerton Season 3 and will portray Lord Debling in the upcoming instalment. The 39-year-old actor looked sharp in a well-tailored black suit.
Other new additions to the cast of the show include Hannah Dodd and Daniel Francis. While Dodd opted for a black corset-fit top and a floor-grazing blue column skirt, Francies wore a white-and-black tuxedo.
Florence Hunt and Will Tilston are set to reprise their roles from the previous instalment. The actors twinned in black at the event.
A recent promo video dropped by the makers revealed that Emma Naomi, who plays Mrs. Mondrich in the show, is set to have a glow-up in the upcoming season. Naomi stunned in a lavender-hued gown with a tulle cape adding a touch of drama to the ensemble.
Claudia Jessie, set to return as Eloise Bridgerton to the third season of the show, looked gorgeous in a striped pale blue pantsuit that she paired with green platform heels.
Other fan-favourite characters returning to the show include Lady Danbury (played by Adjoa Andoh) and Violet Bridgerton (played by Ruth Gemmell). Both Adjoah and Gemmell rocked monochrome outfits at the event.
While the last season revolved around the budding romance between Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Ashley), the upcoming instalment will focus on Colin (Newton) and Penelope’s (Coughlan) gradual transition from friends to lovers. The third season consists of eight episodes, which will stream on Netflix in two instalments — Part I on May 16 and Part II on June 13.
