Calcutta: The Kolkata Knight Riders’ preparatory camp for the Champions League Twenty20 will begin in Hyderabad on September 12. The IPL VII champions play all their group league matches in Hyderabad and begin their campaign against Chennai Super Kings on September 17.
The players will start assembling from September 11 and all are expected to be in before the start of the camp.
Sunil Narine has already opted to turn out for the Knight Riders while giving the Test series against Bangladesh a miss. The West Indies Cricket Board has said the “decisions will not have any deleterious effect on consideration for future West Indies selection” because the CLT20 had “an ICC approved window on the international schedule.”
Narine had not been considered for selection for all three home Tests against New Zealand after opting to play for Knight Riders in the IPL final on June 1. It caused him to miss the start of a West Indies training camp ahead of the first Test on June 8.
The Knight Riders will alsotake on a qualifier on September 21, Perth Scorchers on September 24 and Dolphins on September 29.
The last time Knight Riders played in the CLT20 was in 2012.
