Calcutta: The Bengal probables for this season’s Ranji Trophy and other domestic competitions will be named on Tuesday.
Around 25 to 30 players will be shortlisted and the group will undergo regular practice from September 1. A report will be submitted to Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint secretary Sourav Ganguly about Bengal’s performance in the Buchi Babu Memorial tournament. Bengal lost all the three matches in the competition, losing to Andhra, TNCA President’s XI and Assam.
“After every game, I kept updating Sourav about the performance of the side. I was regularly in touch with him,” said Joydeep Mukherjee, who accompanied the team as in stand-in coach.
“Despite the poor result, we should look at the positives because it’s just the start of the season.”
