Kallis & Pat opt to play for Knights

Calcutta: All the eight international players who were named by more than one team for the upcoming Champions League T20, have opted for their IPL franchises instead of the teams from their native countries.

“Eight players scheduled to take part in the competition were in high demand after being named in more than one squad, after their respective Twenty20 clubs from around the world qualified for the tournament,” the CLT20 organisers said in a statement.

The eight players are Corey Anderson, George Bailey, Patrick Cummins, Jacques Kallis, Lasith Malinga, David Miller, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Smith. South African Kallis and Australian Cummins will be representing Kolkata Knight Riders despite being named by Cape Cobras and Perth Scorchers, respectively.
