Youth triumph 3-0

Imphal, Aug. 21: Youth Organisation Sporting Club blanked Progressive Youth Association by 3-0 goals in the Maharajkumar Ghanendrajit Memorial Super Division Football League, 2014 at Khuman Lampak sports complex today.

Youth Organisation dominated the match with H. Sailesh ruffling the net in the seventh minute to dictate terms in the first half. Progressive Youth failed to pose a challenge. Making matters worse for its opponent, Youth Organisation got another goal from H. Sailesh in the 76th minute to post a 2-0 lead. Later, Md Suraj wrapped up the game with his teamís third goal during injury time of 80 plus two minutes.

In another match, United Progressive Adults Association blasted Citizen Club by 10-0 goals to collect full points.

Th. Modhumangol struck seven goals while Kh. Sanayaima Singh, Ak. Pradipkumar Singh and K. Akshaykumar Singh fetched a goal each for UPAA. UPAA player A. Anand and Aleng Chiru got a yellow card.

Table tennis: H. Senerita Devi of Thoubal claimed the cadet girlsí singles title of the third State Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship at DM College indoor stadium in Imphal.

Nominated: The project officer (teams) SAI has nominated Dronacharya awardee and SAG boxing coach L. Ibomcha Singh as government observer for the final boxing trial for Asian Games 2014 at Netaji Subash National Institute of Sports, Patiala, from August 26.
