Wormsley: Nagarajan Niranjana snared four wickets as India women bundled their English counterparts out for a paltry 92 in the first innings of the first Test, at Sir Paul Getty’s ground, here, on Wednesday. Wicket-keeper Sarah Taylor top-scored with 30 for the hosts.
In reply, the visitors, too, are in trouble, reduced to 87 for six at stumps on Day I. Jhulan Goswami and Niranjana are both batting on 13.
The start was a pretty solid one for India, though. The opening pair of Thirush Kamini and Smriti Mandhana put on 40 before the former was out caught behind off the bowling of Jenny Gunn.
