NH-33 bike-auto crash

Five persons were injured on Sunday afternoon, when an auto-rickshaw hit a motorcycle and fell into a ditch along NH-33 near Pardih, some 5km from the heart of the steel city.

The two-wheeler was partially damaged in the accident while its rider sustained minor injuries. Of the four auto-rickshaw passengers, one has been hospitalised.

Police said that the crater-riddled highway stretch had caused the accident. Mishaps are frequent on the bumpy highway, the arterial link between Jamshedpur and Ranchi, because of poor maintenance and no curbs on speeding.
