Dibrugarh, July 29: Kamrup (metro) and Dibrugarh players are ruling the roost at the State Wushu Championship organised by Dibrugarh District Wushu Association, in association with the Wushu Association of Assam, at Rameswarlal Saharia Sanghati Bhawan here.
Altogether 500 players from 18 districts are participating in the four-day meet from Sunday.
In the senior men’s wushu taolu nanquan event, Sanjib Kumar Singh of Kamrup bagged a gold medal while Abhijit Daimari of Udalguri took silver.
In the men’s chanqun event, Niloy Rabha of Kokrajhar won gold while Arun Boro of Kamrup bagged a silver.
In the women’s taichiquan event, Nabanita Boro and Gloria Lama, both of Kamrup, bagged gold and silver respectively.
In the women’s chanquan event, Padmani Narzary and Anjali Basumatary of Kokrajhar bagged gold and silver respectively.
In the junior boys’ nanquan event, Amit Kumar Rout of Dibrugarh bagged gold while Arun Limbu of Golaghat bagged silver.
In the junior boys’ chanquan event, Dilip Rajbonshi of Dibrugarh bagged a gold medal.
In the junior girls’ chanquan event, Poonam Chetia of Dibrugarh bagged a gold while in the boys’ sub-Junior Nanquan event, Chiranjit Boro of Kamrup Metro won the gold.
