Instant money

Bank of India, which opened three e-galleries, one at Hazaribagh and two in Jamshedpur, and five ultra-small branches in Ranchi earlier in July, is the first and the only one in India to offer instant money transfer (IMT) facility. “The IMT enables customers to transfer money to persons who don’t even have an account with us,” executive director R. Koteeswaran told the media in Ranchi on July 18. For IMT, the recipient must have a cellphone. When a customer transfers a certain sum to another person who doesn’t have a Bank of India account, the bank will SMS a four-digit code to the recipient. The recipient can then enter a Bank of India ATM kiosk and withdraw the sum using the code

Centre for Engineering and Technology (CET), the in-house consultancy unit of Steel Authority of India Limited located in Ranchi, celebrated its 32nd foundation day on July 17. A cultural programme was organised on the occasion at Ispat Bhavan auditorium in the evening.
