Sri Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati (right), Paramacharya, Bihar School of Yoga, delivers a lecture on the role of yoga in everyday life at Rangmanch, Swabhumi, on Friday evening. The session was one of the highlights of Know Yourself Yogotsav — Bharat Yatra 2014, a five-day yoga convention being held in the city in association with The Telegraph. “Yoga is related to the strength that we need to go through life. Cultivating spiritual awareness is the aim of human life,” said Swami Niranjanananda, whose morning sessions at Rangmanch from July 25 to 27 focused on the various preventive and curative benefits of asanas. Some of the basic asanas were demonstrated for the audience, which was followed by a discussion on the benefits of pranayam.
The Yogotsav shifts to Khudiram Anushilan Kendra, near the Eden Gardens, on July 29 and 30. The sessions divided into Yog Sadhana, Know Yourself, Find Divinity in Life, Journey Through the Inner Dimensions and Process of Realisation will be held from 6am to 8am and 6pm to 8pm. Entry is free.
