Mazbaat, Kiang Khasia in final

U-17 football

Guwahati, July 25: Dakhin Mazbaat High School of Udalguri and Kiang Khasia Memorial Tribal High School of Hailakandi stormed into the final of the second Inter-District under-17 Girls’ School Football Tournament at Nehru Stadium here today.

Dakhin Mazbaat High School got the better of Gourang High School of Kokrajhar 3-0 to seal their place in the final.

Mazbaat girls completely outplayed their Kokrajhar counterparts in all aspects of the game. Ruhi Orang put her side ahead with a fine goal in the 24th minute while Susoni Rabha completed her brace with two goals in the 44th and 57th minutes.

In the other semi-finals played on the second turf, Kiang Khasia Memorial Tribal High School registered a thumping 4-0 victory over Naukata Milan Higher Secondary School of Baksa.

Trinalata Debbarma started the proceedings with a goal in the seventh minute of play while she ensured her second goal in the 49th minute.

Panchami Devnath found the back of the net twice with goals in the 25th minute and 53rd minute respectively.

In the quarter-finals, Gourang High School got the better of Rani High School of Kamrup Rural 2-0 via tie-breaker while Kiang Khasia Memorial Tribal High School beat Ujjalpur High School of North Lakhimpur 4-0.

Dakhin Mazbaat High School eased past Khuang Higher Secondary School 2-0 while Naukata Milan Higher Secondary School defeated Paschim Simen Sapori Adarsha High School of Dhemaji 2-0. Dakhin Mazbaat High School of Udalguri will lock horns with Kiang Khasia Memorial Tribal High School of Hailakandi in the final tomorrow.
