PITFALLS OF CITY LIFE

Guess what is the cost of life? Priceless, you say? Duh, wrong! It is drain cheap in Jamshedpur.

The son of an auto-rickshaw driver fell into an overflowing drain pit in the elite Jubilee Park area on his 10th birthday on Wednesday and was washed up dead in the connecting reservoir a day later. The incident reflects how dangerous open sewers and manholes can be during monsoon and yet, nonchalance and lame excuses are what the steel city’s careless civic guardians can at best offer.
