Thiruvananthapuram, June 24: A Kerala Youth Congress vice-president today dubbed Rahul Gandhi’s organisational reforms “Tughlaq-like”, doing so to a big applause in the state party chief’s presence.
The comments by C.R. Mahesh, who didn’t name Rahul, come barely a month after senior leader T.H. Mustafa was suspended after calling the Congress vice-president a “joker”.
Mahesh said the measures had weakened the youth and student bodies and rued that seniors were not taken into confidence on many key matters.
Youth Congress state chief Dean Kuriakose said Mahesh’s comments weren’t a personalised attack on any leader. Kerala Congress chief V.M. Sudheeran also seemed to endorse the concerns raised by Mahesh.
