Lamlai qualify for state level

Imphal, June 22: Lamlai High School defeated Development High School, Maibakhul, by a solitary goal in the Under-14 boys Imphal East district-level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament at artificial turf, Khuman Lampak, today.

The winning goal for Lamlai was scored by N. John in the 43rd minute, helping the team to qualify for the state-level Subroto Mukherjee competition, which will be held next month.

In the under-17 boysí category, Aforcs Higher Secondary School, Khabeisoi, drubbed Prime Rose English School, Khabeisoi by 4-1 goals, to qualify for the state-level competition as well.

Tejuddin opened the account for Aforcs in the 22nd minute and Thangam consolidated in the 30th minute to post a two-goal lead in the first half.

In the second half, Thangam got his teamís third goal in the 52nd minute and moments later, Sundaynoon picked up the fourth goal in the 53rd minute to make it 4-0.

However, Prime Rose finally got their consolation goal with Riyaz Khan scoring in the 54th minute.
