Young Star FC win

Guwahati, June 18: Guwahati Young Star Football Club today thrashed River Rine Club 5-1 for their second straight win in the ongoing Guwahati Sports Associationís second division football league at Nehru Stadium here.

Gokul Boro opened the floodgates for Guwahati Young Star Football Club with a goal as early as in the second minute of play. Debabrata Boro increased the lead with another goal in the sixth minute.

Hirak Das reduced the margin for River Rine Club, netting one for his side in the 29th minute.

Debabrata Boro completed his brace in the 44th minute while teammates Abhinash Boro and Madhurjya Boro found the back of the net in the 60th and 63rd minutes of play to make it 5-1.

In another match of the second division league, Sporting Union Club registered a 2-1 victory over former Super League outfit Jewel Star Club.

In an evenly contested affair, Riju Rava provided Sporting Union Club with the lead in the 41st minute while Amit Das drew parity for Jewel Star in the 52nd minute. Jintu Das found the back of the net in the 67th minute to ensure victory for Sporting Union Club.

In the third division league on the second turf of the same ground, Naba Suruj Sports Club outplayed Guwahati Metro Club to snatch a 6-0 victory. Shokyam Kora drew first blood in the 10th minute followed by his second in the 15th minute. Denish Changlo scored a hattrick in the 32nd, 37th and 39th minutes while Achap Chawang scored one in the 38th minute.

Mahabahu Sangha got the better of Rudreswar Ajanta Club 2-0 in another match of the same League. Satyajit Rabha gave his side the lead in the 23rd minute while Prahlad Boro found the back of the net in the 49th minute.
