Unbelievable spell from Stuart: Raina

Calcutta: After India were bowled out for a meagre 105 at Mirpur on Tuesday, the onus was on the bowlers.

They responded to the challenge brilliantly and won the match to clinch the series. Stuart Binny was the most impressive, finishing with 6/4.

Excerpts

Suresh Raina: I think Bangladesh’s debutant Taskin Ahmed bowled exceptionally well. He bowled in the right areas and didn’t give us any loose balls. It was difficult to score against him.

It wasn’t a very good wicket to bat on… Still, I thought we needed to score 170-180. So there was a bit of nervousness at the break as to whether we can defend the total or not.

But our bowlers did a superb job. It was an unbelievable spell from Binny… The best I’ve seen in recent times. Mohit was also brilliant. I never knew Binny could bowl this well.

Mushfiqur Rahim: I thought our bowlers did an excellent job as they restricted India to only 105. However, our batsmen messed it up… The way our batsmen played today, it embarrassed the whole country. It was extremely disappointing.

Stuart Binny (MoM): It’s a special occasion for me… Just got to play my third ODI and to achieve the best bowling figures (by an Indian) is amazing… It is a very happy and proud moment. I think it was my day and I made the most of it.
