UPAA bag eight gold

Imphal, June 15: United Progressive Adults Association (UPAA) bagged eight gold medals in the 10th Governor’s Cup State-Level Fencing Championship at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium.

Out of the five gold medals to be won today in the mini boys’ and girls’ category, United Progressive Adult Association claimed five while Khongman Students’ Club fetched the remaining gold medal.

In the boys’ sabre category, S. Chingkheinganba of UPAA beat L. Chingkheinganba of Miishikhol for the gold. In the girls’ sabre event, L. Anibala of UPAA got the better of L. Abi of PPLYDO for the gold.

The UPAA fencers continue to shine in the foil event for boys’ with O. Chinglemba beating S. Lousing of SA to claim the gold.

In the girls’ category, L. Bidyalaxmi of UPAA got another gold beating L. Martina of Miishikhol.

Khongman Students’ Club got their first gold in the girls’ epee event with A. Malemnganbi beating M. Divya of UPAA.

In the sub junior category, UPAA bagged three gold medals.
