Calcutta, June 11: Computer peripherals maker Logitech India expects its wireless keyboards and mouse to constitute a larger part of its market share within six months.
The company also plans to roll out items for certain Apple products.
“Wireless gives tremendous comfort, flexibility and productivity and the market is shifting very fast from wired to wireless. The wireless keyboard and mouse market is expected to overtake the wired market in about six months for Logitech India. We want to further educate our consumers on the benefits of wireless,” said Ashok Jangra, cluster marketing manager (India & South West Asia), Logitech Electronic India Pvt Ltd.
Logitech today showcased its line-up of wireless products such as keyboards, mouse, portable speakers, headsets and bluetooth speakers. The aim will be to enhance digital navigation, music and video entertainment, gaming, audio and video communication over the Internet through a mix of hardware and software.
Research reports have pegged the personal computer market last year at around 11.5 million based on shipments. Of this, the white boxes, or unbranded devices, are expected to constitute 25-30 per cent. According to Jangra, the white boxes are the primary consumers of wireless products.
Logitech has expanded its offerings by bringing in folios — keyboard folios for iPad Mini and Air — and game controllers for Apple devices.
