IM duo off to Patna

Ranchi, June 10: Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives Iftikar Ansari and Firoz Aslam, alias Pappu, were taken to Patna by the NIA this morning, police sources said.

Iftikar and Firoz, who were arrested on Saturday in the wake of recovery of bombs and other explosives from two places in Ranchi, have admitted to be key facilitators before and after the blasts at Narendra Modi’s rally in Patna on October 27 last year.

Another accused Numan Ansari, arrested from Palamau on May 21, was today produced before the NIA court in Patna. However, his statement could not be recorded.

“The NIA is collecting evidences from Ranchi. A couple of other persons are on its radar,” a police officer said.
