Gifts and messages to make dads feel special

- Youngsters buy presents and plan for Father’s Day

This Father’s Day, if you think your dad is the hero of your life and the world, gift him a greeting card that conveys the message, loud and clear.

The message in the greeting card reads: What is a hero? There are men in this world we look up to, but not in some big hall of fame, they’re down-to-earth dads with everyday lives, but they’re men we admire all the same. Here’s to dads everywhere who make this world a better place by being the kind of men they are — dads exactly like you. Dad, you’re a real hero.

This alone can make your father feel special.

Father’s Day will be celebrated on June 15 and the doting daughters and sons are already in search of gifts and cards to express their love for their dads.

For 19-year-old Maham Mashhud, hailing from Biharsharif currently residing in Patna, her father is the best. “My father works in West Asia and we rarely get to meet each other. My dad is the best and there’s no one like him. I love my dad very much.”

Boring Road resident Kriti Prasad is also planning something special for her father for the day. “We all love our fathers. Father’s Day is the occasion when we can express our love for them. A little bit effort from our side and we can make the day special for them. I plan to buy a gift and prepare a food dish of his choice to make my father feel special.”

Gift stores like Archies Gallery and Right Choice are providing a wide collection of cards and presents for the occasion. Some of the gifts are sure to catch your attention instantly. Like a tiny bottle with a teddy inside it saying “Dad U R Special” for Rs 75 will bring a smile on the face of your father. A city shopkeeper said: “We have a collection of quotation pieces for Rs 199. The heart-shaped ones are priced at Rs 299.” Those who want to gift their fathers something that will be useful for them in daily lives can invest in deodorants, perfumes, ties, shaving kits, cufflinks and others.

“Deodorants are available in the market from Rs 170 to Rs 245, while perfumes are fairly expensive at Rs 6,000. Shaving kits are available at Rs 850. Cufflinks are priced between Rs 140 and Rs 799. Price of wallets starts from Rs 550.”
