Calcutta, June 6: The Trinamul Congress today launched an apparent bid to assuage the concerns of MLA Arjun Singh, who has accused a section of “powerful leaders” of trying to embarrass him, but is planning to eventually take steps to “discipline” him.
On the opening day of the monsoon session of the Assembly, Partha Chatterjee, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay and Mukul Roy met Bhatpara MLA Singh individually to hear him out.
Singh had allegedly abused police for stopping his car on Wednesday night and sought to politicise the issue.
“He has been requested to give his version in writing to Partha Chatterjee,” a senior Trinamul leader said.
A minister said: “Because the chief minister is out of town, action (on Singh) has not been initiated.”
