South Point in semis

Guwahati, June 5: South Point School and Sonapur Chamata High School made it to the semi-finals of the 10th Dhan Sena Sinha All-Assam Inter-School Prize-Money Cricket Tournament at Latasil playground here today.

In the third quarter-final, South Point School got the better of Ganesh Nagar High School by 10 runs.

Put in to bat, South Point School made 122 in 19.1 overs. Subham Dutta topscored with 39 runs while Saahil Jain chipped in with 31.

Khairul Islam Khan was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 15 runs while Abhishek Rajbhar and Balaji Kumar Mahato bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Ganesh Nagar were bowled out for 112 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Rajbhar scored 26 runs while Bishnu Paswan contributed 22 runs. Dhruvraaj Borah picked up two wickets for 13 runs while Subham Dutta and Debabrata Shil took one wicket each. Subham Dutta was adjudged the Man of the Match.

In the fourth quarter-final, Sonapur Chamata High School registered a two-wicket victory over Shri Digambar Jain High School.

Electing to bat, Digambar Jain High School put up 110 in 16.4 overs. Nitesh Ojha scored 19 runs while Aman Agarwal and Amit Sah contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively. Anuwar Hussain picked up four wickets conceding 15 runs.

In reply, Sonapur Chamata got past the target losing eight wickets in 18.2 overs. Rajesh Thakuria scored 34 runs while Anuwar Hussain and Biplob Sarkar chipped in with 17 and 15 runs respectively. Vishal Jain picked up four wickets while Sonu Sethia scalped two wickets for 30 runs. Anuwar Hussain was adjudged the Man of the Match.
