Montevideo: Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is progressing “very well” after undergoing keyhole surgery on his left knee although his chances of playing at the World Cup are still in the balance, the team doctor said on Monday. “It’s only been a few days since the operation but we can say that progress is very good,” Alberto Pan said. “It would be adventurous to set a timeline but we’re bullish on Suarez. We have nearly three weeks ahead of us.”

New Delhi: The Indian women’s badminton team, which bagged the bronze medal in the Uber Cup recently, would be given a cash award of Rs 40 lakh by the Badminton Association of India (BAI). The chief coach of Indian team, Gopichand, would receive a separate cash award of Rs 10 lakh for receiving Padma Bhushan, a press release from BAI said.
