Kohli lauds Uthappa

Calcutta: Virat Kohli blamed the failure to get enough runs in the slog overs and the bowlers’ inefficiency as the reasons for their not making the playoffs in IPL VII.

“When we were batting, the difference of runs between the two side after 12 overs was only 10. But after that, they took off… They scored about 90 in the last eight. That is one area where we have been lacking in the past few games,” rued the RCB captain.

Kohli praised Robin Uthappa who bagged his third consecutive Man of the Match award on Thursday.

“Uthappa is batting well but it is important to get him to hit in the areas we want him to, rather than just giving him the balls to hit,” he said.
