Bihar School Examination Board will declare the Intermediate results by Saturday.
The board chairman, Rajmani Prasad Singh, said on Tuesday: “The Bihar School Examination Board would first declare the Intermediate results and then the matriculation results. The state board’s Class XII results are likely to be declared on May 23 or 24. The matriculation results will be declared by May-end.”
The Intermediate results would come after the ISC results on Saturday and the CBSE Class X result on Tuesday. The ICSE (Class X) results are scheduled to be out at 3pm on Wednesday.
Around 9.95 lakh students appeared in the Intermediate examination in science, arts and commerce streams this year. The declaration of the matriculation and Intermediate results would put an end to the wait of lakhs of students to know how they fared. It would also pave the way for admission in Intermediate or undergraduate courses.
Ravi Ranjan, an Intermediate student of College of Commerce, said: “I have already applied for admission to Patna College, so I am a little tensed about the results. I am happy that it would be out soon.”
The entrance test at Patna College is scheduled on June 7.
Sources in the state board said the results could have been declared earlier but were delayed because of the general election. Board chairman Singh said: “Many evaluation centres were taken over by the district administration to conduct the elections.”
Still, with the limited resources, the board conducted the examination of more than 20 lakh students in Bihar, including 9.95 lakh Intermediate students from February 15 to 28.
