SUV, cash looted in twin strikes

An SUV and cash Rs 4.5 lakh in cash were looted in separate incidents on Wednesday night on capital outskirts.

In an FIR lodged at Tatisilwai police station at 10pm, driver Asim said three criminals shot at him and sped away with the SUV he was driving from near Namkum railway gate, about 10km from the capital.

Tatisilwai OC B.N. Singh confirmed the incident. “FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons. So far, no clue has been found,” he said. Asked about the driver’s condition, Singh said: He has been admitted to RIMS and his condition is stable.”

In another incident, petrol pump employee was robbed off cash worth Rs 4.5 lakh near Sonchipi on Ranchi-Daltonganj Road in Chanho police station area, nearly 40km from the capital.

Chanho OC Rakesh Minz said they were yet to make a headway in the case.
