Footbal camp in Silchar

Hailakandi, May 14: The District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar will organise a 13-day residential football coaching camp involving talented under-16 players from June 1.

DSA assistant secretary Sujay Duttaray said the association is focussing on skill development of footballers below 16 years of age. He said the selection of players would be primarily from rural areas.

He said they were trying to bring a coach from outside the state for conducting the camp.

DSA secretary Babul Hore said the football season of Silchar will begin on May 26 with the kickoff of the Sushila Sundari knockout football championship at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar. Altogether eight clubs will participate in the championship.
