Premjit takes lead with three others

Imphal, May 14: Second seed S. Premjit Singh shared the lead with three others with four-and-a-half points in the 19th Y. Nilamani State-Level Open Chess Tournament at Singjamei Community Hall today.

Premjit entered the fifth round beating fifth seed G. Inao Sharma to pick up full points. The others who entered the fifth round include eighth seed Y. Shankar, fourth seed O. Ningthem and ninth seed L. Koireng .

Rk. Bhogen Singh beat L. Abungou Singh to occupy the second slot with four points. Sharing the third spot with three-and-a-half points are G. Inao Sharma, N. Bankim, Kh. Oley, N. Tolpishak, M. Sanatomba, Y. Yemen, Mahesh Power, E. Shasikanta and T. Saheb Singh.

Making progress in the next round are N. Loken, Y. Dishen, L. Abungou, Orison Waikhom, S. Babulananda, M. Dolendro, M. Rendra, Th. Poireinganba and Rk. Lenin who have collected three points each.
