Pietersen: Yuvi’s a superstar

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was a visibly happy man after RCB beat the Delhi DareDevils by 16 runs, in Bangalore, on Tuesday, courtesy a brilliant 29-ball 68 by Yuvraj Singh.

Virat heaped praise on Yuvraj, but perhaps it was the DD captain Kevin Pietersen who made the most telling observation on the match.

Virat Kohli: It feels really amazing, really wanted this win. On the field, we made a few lapses but overall it was a good performance. It’s been very pleasing to see Yuvi bat like that. All those who doubted him should put those doubts to rest. He’s a world-class player till he stops playing this game and everyone should respect that.

Kevin Pietersen: I can tell you something for free. That man over there batted like an absolute superstar. He has proven a lot of people wrong. It’s always good to see the good guys doing well.

I think we have got to build for next season now. I don’t think there is any realistic chance that we can get to the play-offs from here.

Yuvraj Singh (MoM): We lost the last game. So it was important that we finished this match well. It was very sad to lose the last game.

I just wanted to come to a place where I can be myself and play my game.
