TT, chess meets end

Hailakandi, May 12: The table tennis and chess meet of the United Sports Club, as part of its annual sports festival, ended on the club premises in Silchar on Sunday night.

Sivayan Deb of Udharbond TT Club defeated Biswajyoti Dutta of his own club for the under-11 table tennis title and in the under-17 event, United Sports Clubís D. Khandelwal beat Simanto Chakraborty of Don Bosco School.

In the under-17 doubles final, Khandelwal and Rajdeep Goswami defeated Avinash Paul and Subhrangshu Paul of the same club in the final.

In under-11 chess, Sagnik Roy of India Club annexed the title with three points.

In the under-13 category, India Clubís Rituraj Sur won the title, tallying 3.5 points.

Nabarun Das of Karimganj Chess Association won the under-15 crown with three points. Sunit Das of India Club won the under-19 crown with three points.

India Clubís Chayan Palit annexed the senior title tallying four points.

The daylong third edition of education zonal inter-district karate-do championship of the South Assam Zone of United Karate-Do Association, Assam, was held at the indoor stadium of Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar yesterday.
