FC Imphal tame Majorkhul men

Imphal, May 4: FC Imphal blanked MUSA Majorkhul by 2-0 goals in the 16th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Registering their third victory from four matches in the league, FC Imphal scored both the goals in the first half through M. Ningthouremba and Gaiphulung.

In another match, Imphal East Veteran Football Association beat Khurai Veteran Football Association by a solitary goal. Novelson fetched the winning goal off a cross from K.Ranjan. This is Imphal East Veteransí first win from three matches.

Memorial cricket: Cyclone Thangmeiband posted a five-wicket win over Tiddim Road Athletic Union to enter the final of the 1st Brajabihari Paul and Govind Paul Memorial Trophy at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

Aquatics: Central Swimming Club, Wangkhei, bagged the overall team championsí trophy, winning 56 medals in the 30th State Age Group Aquatics Championship 2014 at Khuman Lampak swimming pool.

The CSC team got 25 gold, 20 silver and 11 bronze medals for 100 points while Maharaj Garibniwas Memorial Club collected 42 points for the runners-up title.

Expedition: The Indian Mountaineering Foundation is organising the IMF Expedition 2014 to Nitalthaur Peak in Uttarakhand Himalaya, commencing from the last week of May. Qualified men and women climbers can collect the details of the expedition from MMTA, Minuthong.
