Champai edge past Khurai

Imphal, April 28: KMC Champai posted a solitary-goal win against Khurai Veteran Football Association in the 16th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2014 at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

The first half went goalless. However, KMC Champai scored in the 44th minute from a penalty corner. Lalminthang collected the cross and aimed his shot at the goal but the keeper blocked it and then lost control of the ball.

Latching onto the loose ball, Th. Shehsat wasted no time in converting it for the winning goal. In another match, Veteran Sports Association Churachandpur held Integrated Veteran Football Association to a goalless draw to share a point each.

Body-building: Th. Dayanand Singh claimed the senior category title of the second Imphal East Body Building Contest, 2014 held at Khurai Lamlong in Imphal East.

Dayanand, representing Pravabati Fitness Centre, beat W. Priyobrata of Zoya Fitness, who got the silver and Md Awaz Khan got bronze.
