E-directory for biz units

Retailers or industrialists looking for genuine pharmaceutical units, or for that matter any other set-ups, in the state will not have to slog hard. They just need to sit back and click the mouse.

At present, the state industries department is half-way through towards creating a product directory, which will have all information about the major industries and units functioning in the state.

A department official said the product directory would help the industrialists and retailers in different ways. “Until now, the department has been able to list 35 products. Further work is on for the same at present. There are many who want to know and enquire about a particular industry or unit in Patna. There are people engaged in the retail business or more industrialists who want to contact them and enquire about the unit. The retailers will want to contact them so that they can form a relationship with the unit for the supply of the product. This directory will be helping them out,” the official said.

For example, as in the list, when it comes to the drugs and pharmaceutical sector, the name of one of the units operating in the state is India Pharmaceuticals, located in the Chowk Sikarpur area of the state capital. “The list has the registration number and other details of the unit and its production capacity. Also, the list has the average production capacity of the unit in the past three years and the contact details. So, if anyone checks it, all information about the unit is there and it becomes easy for the people. There are many categories and kinds of units in the list. ,” another official added.

The department has started the process under which they can apply online their proposed units for an approval of the State Investment Promotion Board. However, the fee for the approval has been increased. For projects worth Rs 20 crore, one has to pay Rs 3,000 and for those which are over Rs 20 crore, a fee of Rs 5,000 has to be paid to the department. Earlier, a uniform fee of Rs 1,000 used to be charged. “The department is trying to ensure that the potential investors and the industrialists get the facilities necessary from the department easily. The website (www.industries.bih.nic.in) has all the information and one has to just log on to it and check,” the official said.
