Cash raids

Police seized Rs 10.99 lakh in three separate raids in Patna on Monday.

In Dhanuki Mor area, the police recovered Rs 3.5 lakh from an SUV. A person in the car, believed to be of a former MLA, was taken for interrogation. The cops apprehended another SUV in the area, recovering Rs 3.12 lakh from one Manoj Choudhary. Sources said Manoj is the son of former Union minister Dasai Choudhary who recently joined the BJP. Rs 4.37 lakh was recovered from Anil Kumar, a resident of Rupaspur, from railway crossing No. 15 under Sachivalaya police station.

People are not allowed to carry more than Rs 50,000 cash on the roads till the model code of conduct is in force.
