Victories for St Joseph, Gyanjyoti

Guwahati, April 8: St Joseph School and Gyanjyoti Vidyalaya registered convincing victories in their respective matches of the first Under-15 Inter-school Cricket Tournament, organised by Art of Cricket Club, at Janata Bhawan parade ground here today.

St Joseph School got the better of Happy Montessori School by eight wickets in the first match of the day. Electing to bat, Happy Montessori managed to score 62 before being all out in 14.3 overs. In reply, the St Joseph batsmen went past the target with ease, losing only two wickets in eight overs. Abhinash Sharma, who took five wickets for three runs in 2.3 overs, was adjudged the Man of the Match.

In another match, Gyanjyoti Vidyalaya eased past Little Flower School by eight wickets. Put in to bat, the Little Flower batsmen scored 65 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 15 overs.

The Gyanjyoti boys went past the target in only six overs, losing just two wickets. Rashid Farhan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
