Difficult draw for Bengal

Calcutta: Bengal and Jharkhand qualified from East Zone for the Super League stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 meet, to be played in Rajkot and Mumbai from April 8 to 14.

Placed in Group B, along with Delhi, Kerala, Baroda and Rajasthan, Bengal will open their campaign against Baroda on April 8 in Mumbai.

Jharkhand, in Group A along with Haryana, Goa, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, start against Gujarat on the same day in Rajkot.

The final will be played in Mumbai on April 14.

Two teams from each zone qualified for the Super League. However, with the IPL VII set to start from April 16 in Dubai, teams would miss the top players.

Bengal would miss the services of the likes of Manoj Tiwary, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Wriddhiman Saha.

Bengal are set to play Rajasthan on April 9, Delhi on April 10, and Kerala on April 11.
