New Delhi, March 28: Delhi police today said 10 suspected members of the Indian Mujahideen were arrested from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur and Sikar over the past three days.
Acting on a tip-off from Delhi police’s special cell, which busted the terror outfit’s Rajasthan module on Sunday, Rajasthan police nabbed the 10 members.
“They were arrested after their names were revealed by the suspected terrorists who were arrested on Sunday,” said special commissioner of Delhi police S.N. Srivastava.
On Sunday, Delhi police had arrested top IM operative Ziaur Rehman alias Waqas, a Pakistani whose arrest in Ajmer coincided with the capture of three of his associates.
Another suspected IM commander, Tehsin Akhtar, was arrested from Darjeeling on Tuesday.
“During interrogation, the five arrested IM operatives revealed their names and we immediately alerted Rajasthan police who carried out raids subsequently and nabbed the 10 persons,” Srivastava added. All the 10 suspects are aged between 20-25 years.
“If needed, we will interrogate the 10 members of the IM’s Rajasthan module who are being interrogated by Jodhpur police. A preliminary probe has revealed that they were not involved in any blast but provided logistics support to the five accused arrested earlier,” Srivastava said.
