Flash of unity

Bidyut Baran Mahto — JMM turncoat and BJP’s best bet for the Jamshedpur hot seat — filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha polls at the East Singhbhum district collectorate on Wednesday. The 51-year-old native of Krishnapur, Seraikela-Kharsawan, who had spent more than three decades in the JMM before switching sides earlier this month, had senior BJP leaders Sarayu Roy and Jamshedpur East MLA Raghubar Das as proposers. They were led by former chief minister Arjun Munda to show a united face of the party and refute allegations of factionalism. After completing nomination formalities, Bidyut and his backroom boys left for Aam Bagan in Sakchi to address a BJP meeting attended by more than 6,000 supporters. A quick recap of the wannabe MP’s day out
