Govt urged to hold ILP talks

Shillong, March 25: The 13 pressure groups who are demanding implementation of the inner-line permit (ILP) in Meghalaya today requested the state government to speed up the process of calling them for a round of talks.

General secretary of the Khasi Studentsí Union (KSU) Auguster Jyrwa said the groups had submitted a representation on the ILP issue to the government about two weeks back.

He said, however, no intimation had been received from the government.

Jyrwa said the government should no longer waste time to invite the groups for talks based on the representation they had submitted.

He said the KSU would observe Khasi National Awakening Day on April 4.
