Rahman in for Rubel

Calcutta: Mohammed Ziaur Rahman will replace injured Rubel Hossain in the Bangladesh squad for the ongoing World T20.

Rubel had dislocated a finger during the hosts’ last match against Hong Kong and, therefore, has been ruled out of the tournament.

The ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee (ETC) of World T20 has approved the replacement and Ziaur can now be officially added to the squad.

Ziaur, 27, is an all-rounder who has played in 11 T20Is in which he has scored 108 runs and taken two wickets. He made his debut against Ireland in Belfast in July 2012 and played his last T20I against New Zealand in Mirpur.
