Son logs in for PC; Azad game

New Delhi, March 20: Finance minister P. Chidambaram will not contest this election as his son Karti replaced him as the Congress candidate in the fourth list announced by the party tonight.

Chidambaram, who won the Sivaganga constituency in Tamil Nadu seven times, will be brought to Parliament through the Rajya Sabha.

Health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has finally jumped into the electoral fray from his home state Jammu and Kashmir.

The party has not yet decided candidates to take on Narendra Modi in Vadodara and Varanasi.

Mani Shankar Aiyar will contest from Tamil Nadu but Jayanthi Natarajan and G.K. Vasan will not.

The Congress has fielded Laxman Singh, the brother of Digvijaya Singh, against Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj in Vidisha.
