Poknapham triumph

Imphal, March 19: Poknapham defeated Imphal Free Press by 16 runs to move into the final of the fourth AMWJU Sports Meet played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.

Pokpnapham won the toss in a 10-over match and decided to bat first with Gautam Sharma leading the charge, hitting 16 runs to post 69/5.

Imphal Free Press bowler Popcha Yambem bagged three wickets. The IFP team, in their reply, managed just 53/6.

In the other semi-final, Naharolgi Thoudang defeated Sangai Express by five wickets to sail into the final as well.

Sangai Express batted first after winning the toss and put up 82 runs for the loss of five wickets. In reply, Naharolgi Thoudang reached the target losing five wickets in the process.
